How to Get Here

On foot / bicycle

There are multiple entrances for pedestrians and cyclists as follows:

  • Southern Entrance (Gedling): located at the far end of the Lambley Lane Recreation Ground fields.
  • North Eastern Entrance (Gedling): on Spring Lane near to the junction with Lambley Lane.
  • North Western Entrance (Mapperley): there is a footpath off Axmouth Drive and Braunton Crescent on the Lime Tree Gardens Estate and also two new footpaths off Spring Lane in the new Bloor Homes Spring Park housing estate ('Hartland Drive').

By car

There are two car parks available as follows:
  • The main car park with its new overflow extension has space for 125 vehicles and the entrance is accessed via Spring Lane, Mapperley, NG4 4PE. This car park is located within the country park and has dedicated disabled parking.
  • You can also park at the Lambley Lane Recreation Ground, Gedling (located near to the junction with Arnold Lane, close to Sainsbury's Local). You then need to walk/cycle across the recreation ground fields and enter the park through the Southern Entrance.
At busy periods such as bank holidays, the main car park on Spring Lane can become full. If so, please do NOT park on the main road and instead proceed to Lambley Lane Recreation Ground and park there.

Public transport

Trainline web site (opens in a new window).
Trainline is Europe’s leading train and coach app. We work with 207 rail and coach companies to offer our customers travel to thousands of destinations in and across 44 countries in Europe.

Spring Lane (Mapperley/Lambley): the Nottingham City Transport bus services 47, 47A and 47B all run along Spring Lane from where you can enter either the main car park, the North Western Entrance from Mapperley or the North Eastern Entrance from Lambley. These bus services run from Nottingham city centre to either Lowdham or Calverton. Further information is available from the Nottingham City Transport web site (opens in a new window).

*Update* March 2017 - the 47 service now accepts Easy Rider, Robin Hood and NCT ticket deals to travel to the country park from the city (as the city boundary has now been extended along Spring Lane to include the bus stops adjoining the country park).

Arnold Lane in Gedling: the Nottingham City Transport bus services 44 and 44A run along Arnold Lane alongside the junction with Lambley Lane from where you can enter the Lambley Lane Recreation Ground fields and then the Southern Entrance to the country park. These bus services run from Nottingham city centre to Gedling. Further information is available from the Nottingham City Transport web site (opens in a new window).

Opening times

The Spring Lane car park opens at 8.00am every day. Pedestrian entrances are open all of the time, however there is no lighting on the park and so it is not recommended to enter when dark.

The Spring Lane car park closing times vary during the year:
  • November to February - 4.00pm
  • March to October - dusk

The entrance barrier to the car park will be closed at these times, however any car still in the car park will be able to leave at any time through the one-way exit.

  • Please note that motorbikes including scramble bikes are NOT allowed within the park other than to park up at the main car park.
Toilets are available in the new Visitor Centre next to the Spring Lane car park.
