​Postcard Picture Competition: Free Entry
Deadline for submission: 31 January 2021 Open to everyone.

​The Trustees of The Friends of Gedling Country Park are delighted to announce a Postcard Art Competition inspired by the natural world and the plan by Gedling Council and Friends of Gedling Country Park to install a sand martin nesting bank and bird hide on the Country Park.
We invite children and adults to submit an original postcard sized artwork. (3 entries per person are allowed)
 
Entry Requirements.
Submit your postcard pictures which can be in a range of mediums including drawing, painting, pasting, print, illustration, textiles and mixed media, collage and stencil,
No photographs will be allowed and themes could include:
Your favourite bird or creature that lives on the Park.
A view of the Country Park Lagoons as if looking from a bird hide.
A Park landscape view.
A tree or wild flowers or leaves.
Mushrooms and other fungi.
Insects or butterflies.
The Postcards will be displayed on our website, on facebook and in Cafe 1899 after Covid Restrictions. (to be confirmed)
 
Prizes:
There will be a prize of £25 for each of the following categories
Up to 10 years old on 31 January 2021
10 to 16 years old on 31 January 2021
over 16years old on 31 January 2021
 
How to take part
1. Ensure your size of art work is an A6 postcard (approximately 14.8cm x 10.5cm) 
2. We advise you that you place your postcard picture in an envelope to prevent damage.
3. Add the following details to the back of your postcard clearly:
Name of artist
Name of the postcard picture (optional)
4. Include the following information with your submitted artwork on a separate piece of paper so we know how to contact you.
Name of artist.
Age on submission day. 31 January 2021.
Name of postcard picture (optional)
Email address.
5. Post to us your postcard picture using the following address so it reaches us no later than 31 January 2021.
The Friends of Gedling Country Park:  3 Field Close, Gedling, Nottingham, NG4 4DE
We will use your contact details only to confirm receipt of your Postcard Picture(s)
To inform you of our planned event opening in Cafe 1899 and to tell if your art work has been selected or shortlisted for an award.
 
And finally…
6. We will be using the competition to promote our plans to install a Bird Hide and a Sand Martins Nesting Bank if we successfully get a grant from the Severn Trent Community Award Scheme.
7. Three Judges will be selected to decide on the winners.
8. The Friends of Gedling Country Park will sell all submitted postcard art works at a standard fee of £10 each. 100% of sales will go directly to supporting the work on the Gedling Country Park.
Unfortunately, we are unable to return unsold postcard pictures, but if you wish for your work to be returned please provide us with a pre-paid envelope with your entry.
